Endodontics
The specialty dedicated to the prevention and treatment of diseases or injuries of the dental pulp.
Endodontic treatments may be required when patients experience sensitivity, discomfort, chronic or acute pain, spontaneous pain, pain on biting or by thermal stimuli, localised or diffused pain, or tooth discoloration. However, pulp injury may also be completely asymptomatic and therefore diagnosed during a professional dental examination only.

Canal root system treatment
Diagnostic
CBCT, periapical x-rays, thermal test, occlusal control.
Treatment
Due to the varying number of root canals and their highly individual and specific anatomy, a precise endodontic treatment with appropriate visual magnification is strongly recommended. Long-term success also depends on the quality of the subsequent restoration and the distribution of forces on the treated tooth. As non-vital teeth are more fragile and less hydrated than vital ones, careful attention to the overall occlusion scheme remains especially important.
